MARY JANE LONG &
CHRISTIAN BLYSTONE JR.

The Tales of a Blair Family

Mary Jane "Polly" Long was the daughter of George Long and Margaret (Blair) Long (daughter of Samuel Blair and Mrs. Ann Young).  She was brought up in Crawford County, Pennsylvania and married Christian Blystone Jr. about 1835.  Christian Blystone Jr. was the son of Christian Blystone and Mary (Brookhauser) Blystone.  Christian Jr. had a brother Isaac whose son, Frederick, also married a Blair descendant, Eloise/Ida Hunter.

Mary and Christian Jr. had two daughters, Sarah " Cally" Caroline born December 27, 1836 in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania and Katherine "Kitty" who was born March 21, 1844.  Sarah Caroline was married on the 24th of June, 1874 to Sylvester "Vest" A. Kneer but no children were born to this marriage.  Katherine Blystone never married and died on February 8, 1897.   The will of Sarah Caroline (Blystone) Kneer is of interest since the heirs were her cousins.  A list of heirs follows:
